Dapeng Peninsula — Capsule Train & Cliff-Side 711
On Dapeng Peninsula's Yunhai Angel Bay, a blue-white capsule train runs along a C-shaped cliff track 40 meters above the sea — 10 RMB per person, 3–5 minutes, best ridden at golden hour (4–6 PM). At the base, a 711 with 180° sea-view windows sits on Hainan Bay cliffs. Take the M231 bus from Dongmen or E11 from Shenzhen city center to Dapeng, then a taxi to the capsule train station.
Dongsi Coastal Trail — National Geographic's Top China Hike
The 6-km Dongsi (East-West) Coastal Trail from Dongchong Beach to Xichong Beach is rated China's most beautiful hiking route by National Geographic. The full traverse takes 4–6 hours and includes mangrove boardwalks, mountain ridge viewpoints, sea stacks, and two sandy beaches. Bring hiking shoes, gloves (for chain-assisted sections), sunscreen, and water. Go early on weekends to avoid crowds. Shuttle buses and water taxis are available at both ends.
Shenzhen Bay Sunset — City Meets Sea
Shenzhen Bay Park's 13-km coastal promenade offers unobstructed views of Hong Kong's mountains and cityscape across the water. Rent a bike (shared bikes available along the path) or walk south to the Futian Mangrove Nature Reserve. The best photography light is during golden hour, 5:30–7 PM year-round. Weekend crowds are heavy after 4 PM — arrive earlier for the best experience.
