综评

Worth the drive if you are an active traveler who has done a Guizhou karst cave before and wants the undeveloped version. Skip if you want easy infrastructure or have no headlamp.

亮点
Paddleboarding through an emerald river cave with no ticket, no crowd, and no lights is a rare find in 2026.
The 500-meter skylight is genuinely cinematic - one shaft of light into the dark river.
要注意
Roads are rough and the last stretch is unpaved mountain road - factor an extra hour each way.
Zero infrastructure on site, so plan food, water, and a flashlight before driving in.
Inner kilometer is pitch dark and easy to get disoriented in without a strong headlamp.

Paddle through an emerald underground river

The entrance opens into a calm, jade-green river about 10 meters wide. Most visitors rent a paddleboard upstream for around CNY 100 and float gently into the dark. The water is so clear in dry season you can see pebbles and small fish two meters down. Best at 9-11 AM in Apr-Oct before afternoon winds pick up on the surface.

Stand under the half-kilometer skylight

About 500 meters in, a ceiling collapse has opened a roughly 500-meter-long gap to the sky. At midday a single shaft of light drops straight into the river, lighting the cave in a column you can paddle around. Photographers time it for late morning when the sun is overhead; the mist rising off the warm water catches the beam.

Reach the 200-meter stalactite hall

The full inner trek runs about three kilometers and ends in a chamber up to 200 meters tall, filled with column-shaped stalactites that took millions of years to form. The trail is rough and the last kilometer is fully dark. A strong flashlight and a helmet for one short crawl section are non-negotiable; locals who know the cave rent gear in Xiantang town.
