Kuanzhai Alley's Three Historic Passages

The alley complex consists of three parallel streets — Kuan (Wide), Zhai (Narrow), and Jin (Metal) — each with its own character. The narrow passages give the area its name and some of the most photographically striking street scenes in Chengdu.

Wenshu Yard Temple Architecture

The temple's most striking features include a grand entrance hall with bronze Buddha statues, a serene rock garden, and the towering pagoda. The monastery grounds are unexpectedly peaceful for a city-center location.

Calligraphy and Craft Street

Just outside the east gate of Wenshu Yard, a narrow street is lined with vendors selling traditional calligraphy supplies, ink paintings, paper cut art, and handmade seals — a living continuation of the temple's artistic heritage.
